Hurricane Alley was begun in
1998 as a web site for the purpose of providing information concerning
tropical systems worldwide. The belief at Hurricane Alley has
always been that information this important should always be available
to as many people as possible. Until the "season from hell", 2004, it
did not require more than 1 person to maintain the site. Last year we
eventually had 3. There was also the increased popularity of the site
worldwide. This resulted in the "forced" move of the site to another
provider, and eventually to the "top tier" for that provider. The end
result was the adoption of the "subscriber area". This paid service
has allowed us to at least maintain "status quo" insofar as providers.
We at the 'Alley pride ourselves on the
timeliness and accuracy of our information.
We will always strive to provide our visitors with the most
information, in the most timely manner. We will also provide
insights into the various aspects of the tropical world, ranging from
what has happened (climatology) to what will happen (forecasting).
If you have any suggestions as to something that you do not see, or
something that you do see, please let us know.
Thanks,
Tom Berg, webmaster - Hurricane Alley
