Climo tidbits for the North Atlantic ... 1950 to the present

  • When the first "named" storm is in June the average number of "named" storms following through the end of November is 10.2

  •  When the first "named" storm is in July the average number of "named" storms following through the end of November is 11.5

  • When the first "named" storm is in August the average number of "named" storms following through the end of November is 6.4

  • The "average" date for a first "named" storm is July 10

  • The "average" date for the last "named" storm is October 26
